Peggy A. LaGree was appointed as Commissioner to the Erie County Water Authority in April of 2020 and is serving her second term.
Ms. LaGree has more than thirty (30) years of public service. She is a former Erie County administrator where she oversaw the Erie County Clerk’s Office for six years as Acting County Clerk and First Deputy Clerk, served as Deputy Budget Director for four years and Deputy Comptroller for 14 years. In those positions she oversaw all fiscal aspects of the departments, supervised management teams and day-to-day operations. Ms. LaGree also served as Assistant Commissioner for the New York State Department of Motor Vehicles and Legislative Director for a member of the New York State Assembly.
A life-long resident of Western New York, Ms. LaGree currently serves on the Executive Board of the Hilary Grace Foundation working to address the current opioid epidemic through increased awareness and education.
