Earth Day is an annual global event dedicated to celebrating our extraordinary planet and to raise awareness of the importance of environmental protection.
Although more than 70% of the earth’s surface is water, not all of it is suitable for human consumption due to various factors such as access, available resources for essential infrastructure, and pollution.
Our community is fortunate to be located on Lake Erie and the Niagara River, two abundant freshwater sources used by the ECWA to provide our more than 550,000 consumers safe, clean drinking water.
As we celebrate Earth Day, let us be mindful of the importance of working together to protect our most precious natural resources and advocate for a healthier planet for future generations.
