CLARENCE, NY – The Erie County Water Authority (ECWA) announced today that it has started construction to install 14,000 linear feet of new watermains on Greiner Road between Anfield Road and Goodrich Road in the Town of Clarence.
ECWA is replacing smaller-diameter watermains with new 16-inch watermains that will improve service delivery, fire protection as well as provide more reliability for customers in these sections of the town. Initial work will begin on Monday, March 24th, and ECWA expects the project to be completed by the Fall of 2025.
During construction, residents may experience temporary disturbance in water service and will be notified in writing in advance of any scheduled shutdown of water service. Traffic may be impacted by the construction, but there will be no road closures.
The $4.5 million infrastructure investment in the Town of Clarence is funded through the ECWA’s 2025 budget, which includes $17 million for watermain infrastructure upgrades across its service territory. The 2025 infrastructure upgrades are part of ECWA’s overall $321 million five-year infrastructure investment plan.
