The Erie County Water Authority (ECWA) has completed the installation of approximately 8,500 linear feet of new water mains and the abandonment of unused watermains in the Village of Depew.
Approximately 160 linear feet of new 10-inch water mains and appurtenances were installed on 14 streets throughout the village. The new, larger diameter water mains will improve service delivery, fire protection, and provide more reliable service for customers.
The $3.3 million infrastructure project is funded through ECWA’s 2021 budget, which included $55.2 million for system-wide infrastructure upgrades. This year’s infrastructure investment spending is part of ECWA’s overall $317 million five-year infrastructure investment plan.
