Non-Competitive Title

Starting Salary - Step 1 *per CBA $56,388.80

Performs routine manual work in the water treatment plant; does related work as required.  This is routine manual work requiring no previous training or experience but requiring physical endurance and willingness to perform menial tasks. Constant oversight is maintained over the work performed.

 

EXAMPLES OF WORK: (Illustrative only)

  • Scrapes and collects muck from filter beds;
  • Loads muck into wheelbarrows and transports muck into hoppers;
  • Loads clean sand on to filter beds;
  • Washes sand in filter beds;
  • Regulates valves to dry filter beds;
  • Performs a variety of custodial and housekeeping functions;
  • Assists others in mechanical maintenance tasks.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGES, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:   Willingness to perform routine manual work; ability to work in damp places; ability to lift heavy weights; physical endurance; good physical condition.

ACCEPTABLE EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING:  None is required but some experience in heavy manual labor is preferred.
